Run With Perseverance

Sermon Alive| Category: More than conqueror | 0 Comments

“Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith.” - Hebrews 12:1-2

Our life can be a long and sometimes difficult race. We often grow weary and are in great need of rest. But this race is not like any we have ever run before. We do not compete against the other runners, nor do we all even run the same course. We run the race marked out by our Heavenly Father; and yet, we ALL must strive toward the same finish line. “Bondservants, be obedient to those who are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in sincerity of hearth, as to Christ; not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but as bond-servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart,” - Ephesians 6:5-6

The 220 track race a very fast runner named Andrew was 50 yards ahead of the rest of the runners when he glanced back and saw his best friend fall in Special Olympics for the Handicapped. The crowd at the finishing post was yelling to Andrew, “Come on, come on, come on!”
But Andrew stopped and went back and took his friend’s hand and lifted him to his feet and they ran together to finish the race. (more…)

“Luke 17:11-19 ; NKJV”

11 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. 13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!” 14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed. 15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan. 17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 “Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.” Ten lepers sought Jesus for healing.

In response to Jesus’ instruction they made way to the High Priest. Along the way their physical healing manifested. Only one of them returned to give thanks and glory to God.

All of us witnessed the goodness of God in the year 2007. Things may have been tough at times but we are still here, serving the Lord, to prove His faithfulness.

The Art of giving thanks is one sure way of bringing us into the blessings of God. Consider the following benefits of thanksgiving. (more…)

“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ - Matthew 25:21

Bible says that giving matters more than receiving. God wants you to be a difference in your worlds. Do you really want your life to be significant in 2008? Then begin investing your time and money into showing people how they can make peace with God. That’s an investment that will make a difference, not only for this year, or 10 years, or 50 years, or even 1,000 years, but it will make a difference for eternity. (more…)
