I just have a question, what is the responsibility of the husband as the head of the house, and does that mean he is the head of the marriage? I think that when taking the marriage vows we said that we have become one flesh what exactly does that mean?

To say that a woman should "submit" to her husband is a very dangerous thing. While you made a clear distinction, this is the excuse used by many "Christians" as well as Radical Islamists to make their women into slaves.

I personally disagree with your writing, because you do give women an inferior role to men. I come from a sect of Judaism (Masorti Judaism) that believes men and women are equal in every respect of prayer and domestic life. To say that a man should head a household is just plain ignorant in our changing world.

Dear David,

Wonderful spiritual truths. I love the way Paul explains this in 1 Corinthians 11, of how Christ is the "head" of every man, man is the "head" of every woman. And how men should not cover their "head" and women should cover their "head".

It might also interest you to know the gender of God. In Hebrew every word has a gender, but there is one word that has both genders and that is the name "YHWH" [Yahweh]. This is how God created man originally...woman was inside man before God took her out. And only when they operate as one are they complete like God.

These are amazing revelations from the Word. The two can't do without each other. ;)

DLE,Thanks for your opinion and i appreciate it. We never usurp the role of Christ as we stand in His Truth.
I think it's very clearly in Ephesians 5:22-25 as i mentioned it before. Take a look in part 2 for example. God bless you.

Be very careful on the statement that a husband is supposed to be prophet, priest, and king to his wife. He is to be no such thing. If he were, he would be usurping the role of Christ in her life. This can never be.

A husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the Church. He is most definitely NOT supposed to take Christ's role in her life. That is reserved for Christ and Christ alone.

Sadly, the mistaken teaching of the husband as being prophet, priest, and king continues in the Church today. Christ alone is our high priest. Christ alone is king. And a man is a prophet only if God bestows upon him a prophetic gift. As Paul notes, not all have that gift.
