The Six Laws Of Abundance - Part 1
There are six laws of Abundance that the Bible talks about – the 6 Ps of Abundance.
1. The Law of Priority
2. The Law of Planting
3. The Law of Proportion
4. The Law of Patience
5. The Law of Prosperity
6. The Law of Purpose
1. The Law of Priority
Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
The word “seek first” means there is a priority, there is an order. Jesus is not saying that material things are not important. He is not saying that we should forget about everything else, drop all things and just focus on the kingdom of God alone. What Jesus is saying here is we must put our priority right. The priority of seeking God and His righteousness must come first before all things, before men’s plans, or before material wealth. Discipleship demands us to put God first before all things including money and materials.
Why do we tithe?
Proverbs 3:9-10 says we are to “honour the Lord with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”
It is simple and straight. The answer is simply to honour God. Again, here we can see that there is a priority. The honouring of God first with our wealth and the first fruits must come first before the blessing flows. For those who have wealth, you are to honour God with your wealth. For those who run many businesses and incomes coming in from different sources, you are to honour God to the first fruits coming in from each of these businesses and income sources. How do I know? It says here “first fruits of ALL your CROPS”. The “all” and “crops” with a plural noun means more than one source of incomes.
1 Corinthians 16:2 tells us to set aside a sum of money which means there is a proportion mentioned here “On the 1st day of the every week each of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income…”
In Paul’s days, they were paid on a weekly basis and the workers received their wages on the first day of the week. Here, Paul was telling the people to set aside a sum of money from their weekly wages to give back to God. The other principle to note here is to let God has the “first fruits” but not the “leftover” of your fruits. For sure you are going to give God what is left if you do not set it aside when you receive your wages. Come prepare each time to give to the Lord.
When we come prepared to give to God, we come into the court of God bringing with us the offering due so as to ascribe glory to God. It is part of our worship to God. It is part of what we bring with us when we go before God to worship Him. The Psalmist declared this in Psalm 96:8-9 to “ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come into his courts. Worship the Lord in the splendour of his holiness.”
When we prioritise our first fruits, God will give us the rest.
We will see the rest of the laws in the next parts.

I know that God doesn’t need our money, or anything that we have for that matter, but we give to Him what we hold dear. We give an offering of some sort, and sometimes it happens to be money.
I can’t think of a Scripture reference to back this up right now, but I believe the people had to bring an offering when they came to worship the Lord. And of course when they were meeting someone else of importance they would bring some type of offering.
In any event, God knows the heart, and we know that where our hearts are, our treasure is there also, whether it be here, or in heaven.
Everything was made by Christ, through Christ, and for Christ. We are stewards of what we have been given. We are to use things, and love others, and not the other way around.
I tithe, not because I am required to, but because I know that ultimately things are not mine and I’m not taking them anywhere, so I am happy to give back to the Lord, part of what He has given to me.
I’m sure you will also talk about the book of Malachi, where God asks us to try Him. Try giving to His house, so that the windows of heaven may be open unto us.
I’m looking forward to it…
