I know that God doesn't need our money, or anything that we have for that matter, but we give to Him what we hold dear. We give an offering of some sort, and sometimes it happens to be money.

I can't think of a Scripture reference to back this up right now, but I believe the people had to bring an offering when they came to worship the Lord. And of course when they were meeting someone else of importance they would bring some type of offering.

In any event, God knows the heart, and we know that where our hearts are, our treasure is there also, whether it be here, or in heaven.

Everything was made by Christ, through Christ, and for Christ. We are stewards of what we have been given. We are to use things, and love others, and not the other way around.

I tithe, not because I am required to, but because I know that ultimately things are not mine and I'm not taking them anywhere, so I am happy to give back to the Lord, part of what He has given to me.

I'm sure you will also talk about the book of Malachi, where God asks us to try Him. Try giving to His house, so that the windows of heaven may be open unto us.

I'm looking forward to it...
