The Six Laws Of Abundance – Part 3

3. The Law Of Proportion

The seed of the harvest is determined by the size of the seed. Paul taught in 2 Corinthians 9:6“whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and whoever sows generously will also reap generously…”

Therefore, if you sow the seeds of anger, you will reap the harvest of anger. The more seeds of anger you sow, the greater the harvest of anger and rage. If you sow the seeds of generosity, you will reap the harvest of generosity. Similarly, the more seeds of generosity you sow, the greater is the harvest of generosity.

What we give back to God, He will give it back to us. Luke 6:38 tells us to “give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down and shaken together and running over. For with the same measure you give, it shall be given to you again…”

What does it mean by the phrase “good measure, pressed down and shaken together and running over”? To understand this better, imagine a small stall owner who sells all kinds of nuts.

The nuts of different types are kept in different containers. When a customer wants to buy the nuts, the nuts are put into a folded paper cone container. The stall owner will fill the cone with scopes of nuts. As he fills the cone with nuts, he will give the cone a little tap so that more nuts are able to fall down to the bottom and to fill in the gaps in between the nuts. He will then scope another round of nuts into the cone until it is filled up to the top. He then pressed the top of the nuts down so that he is able to scope more nuts to the top.  Just to make sure that cone is fully filled, he will pick up another scope of nuts and fills the top until the nuts spilled over. This is what it means by “good measure, pressed down and shaken together and running over”. The owner wants to sell the cone of nuts to the customer and he ensures that the cone contains as much as he can fill it up with nuts before he hands the nuts over to the customer.

God will take what we have given back to him and give it back to us with more than what we have given in the first place until it is overflowing.

In the part 4, we will talk about “The Law of Patience”.
