Fail to forgive?

One of the most grateful testimonies of the joy of forgiveness is Psalm 32.
In which David expresses both the pain of unforgiven sin and the pleasure of forgiveness.

He suffered greatly for his sins of adultery, abuse of power, cover-up and murder, all resulting from his lust of Bathsheba.

Covering sin brings pain.
But forgiveness is a joy.

In 2 Samuel 17 there is a subtle but striking contrast between-
- the forgiven man, David,
- and the unforgiving man, Ahithophel. (more…)

Life Choices and Value Judgments

Have you ever wonder why there are people who simply refuse to forgive even when forgiveness is offered? They choose to hold on to anger and unforgiveness, even lashing out in revenge to vent out the hurts. Yet, are they really happy in the end when reconciliation is no longer possible between two persons? I believe the reason is simple. They do not see any values in forgiving the offender and this is not part of their life choices to forgive, to forget and to mend brokenness. (more…)

What the Bible says about Forgiveness

Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do. – Colossians 3:13

To forgive someone for the wrong that has been done is easily said than done. How many of us can truly say that we have let go of the past memories, hurts and pains without it really affecting our characters, emotions, decisions, relationships and actions? How many of us can truly say “we forgive so and so for hurting me” in lip service and yet harbour that pain quietly or even wallowing in self-pity? (more…)

Are You Overburdened?

Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved. – Psalms 55:22

Whatever our burden may be, no matter how trivial or overwhelming it seems, we are to cast it to the good Lord. When we cast our burden to Him, His sustaining power will flow through our lives. He will strengthen, support and nourish us. He truly loves us. He truly cares for us. (more…)
